LEAD KILLS!

"A bird that eats a lead sinker or jig usually gets very sick and often dies. The lead breaks down in the birds gizzard. Then it moves into the bloodstream and gets carried to important organs like the kidneys and brain, where it may cause a lot of damage."

"Water birds can die by eating just one lead sinker or jig. In Eastern North America, up to half of all Common Loons found dead have died from eating a lead sinker or jig."

Above exerpts from - Lead sinkers and jigs pamphlet published by the Government of Canada. For more information contact the CANADIAN WILDLIFE SERVICE-Environment Canada, Ottawa, Canada. K1A 0H3 or the National Parks Directorate-Parks Canada, Canadian Heritage, Ottawa, Canada. K1A 0M5

BABBIT IS NOT A SUITABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR LEAD! It is a lead based alloy of lead and antimony. Federal regulations require a lead content of less than 1%, so Babbit must not be considered for use as a lead substitute.
