2001 Growers Log - September
There's been almost no growth since the last report. The pumpkin currently measures 277.5 OTT for an estimated 435 pounds. It will be great for Halloween but, alas, I will break no Alberta or personal records this year. My daughter Amy is posing by the pumpkin. I will be inviting friends over on September 29th lift the pumpkin and weigh it on some digital shipping scales from work. After last year's experience when the pumpkin weighed far heavier than the estimate I promised myself no matter what the estimate was I would get it weighed before the weighoff just in case it weighs really heavy over the estimate. By comparision, last years 547 was estimated at 408 this time last year. The pumpkin cam will be going offline soon. It proved to be a very popular addition to the web page so I will consider doing it again next year.
