October 6th - Smoky Lake 13th Annual Great White North Pumpkin Fair and Weigh-Off

I had a last minute change of heart and decided late the night before the weighoff to go to Smoky Lake - 600 km away. I was up at 3:30 am, the kids at 4 am, and we were on the road at 4:45 am for the 6 hour drive to the contest. Shown above is my pumpkin on the scale at the contest. Photo below is the official weight, only 2 pounds less than myunofficial weight taken a week before.

Photo below, I'm at the left with my daughter Zoe behind the Lingi 903.5 that set a new site record for Smoky Lake.

Photo below, loaded up back into our Suburban after the contest.

Photo below, a really big and heavy pumpkin. I think being made of concrete disqualifies it. My daughters Kaylee, Zoe and Amy posing in front.

It was a fun trip for all. I wish it wasn't so far away, but they do a great job organizing the weighoff at Smoky Lake. 5000 people were in the arena for the weighoff.
