The Sproule 968 and Cramer 652 are both doing well. The Sproule main vine is now about 22 feet long and the pumpkin set on June 16th measured in at 58.5 inches circumference this morning (photo above, tennis ball for size reference). First pumpkin on the Cramer was set on July 8th and is a bit bigger than a tennis ball.
The #1 pumpkin on the Sproule continues to grow well. Today is Day 40 since pollination. It measured in with a circumference of 92 inches, total OTT of 212. Its growing steadily averaging about 2 inches per day.
Not content to be left behind is the #1 pumpkin on the Cramer 652. I think Shellie Cramer must be sneaking into Canada and doing something to it in the middle of the night. It's 17 days since pollination, circumference of 49.5 inches and currently averaging about 4 inches per day. Both plants are now getting about 8 oz (dry weight) of a soluble 15-15-30 fertilizer every 4 to 5 days as part of the regular watering schedule..
