Sad to day that although the Lloyd pumpkin was doing well in the beginning of August it began to slow down about 10 days ago and has not grown at all for the last three days. There are no obvious signs of damage to the vine or the pumpkin itself, but its just not growing. Its current size is 114 inches circumference and a total OTT of 251 inches. There are no other pumpkins set on this plant. The Mombert plant also has only one pumpkin on it but its much smaller (only about 90 inches circ) and in a poor position close to a stump. For some reason I seem to strike out every other season (eg. 1998 I had a 500 pounder in early August that cracked and rotted) and that appears to be coming true again this year.
